Donald Fleming's Testimony:
I was born and raised in Dumbarton, Scotland. I am the eldest of three children, all of whom were brought up to follow Roman Catholic traditions. I left home at the age of seventeen and moved to Northern Ireland. Shortly afterwards I met my wife, Jacqueline, the youngest of four daughters who was born in Belfast and from a Christian family but as yet not a Christian herself. We married in 1976 and were blessed with three beautiful daughters.
It was after many problems in my life that I met and trusted in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord of my life. Four weeks later Jacqueline received Jesus, and within two months of Jacqueline receiving Jesus, two of my daughters, Donna and Laura, also accepted Him.
I knew nothing about this God who loved me so much that he sent his only begotten son into this world to die for me on the cross at Calvary, but I wanted to know him, so I started to read the Bible and ended up reading it for 16 hours each day for 6 years. I could not put the Bible down, it came alive to me, it was so exciting getting to know this great and holy God who loved me and gave himself for me.
Six years into my salvation God called me to serve Him in Belarus among the Multiple Sclerosis sufferers; people who were suffering with this terrible disease with no one to help or care for them. These people were without hope in this world and, more importantly, many of them did not know Jesus.
God then called us to serve Him in Ukraine. We knew that He was speaking to us about another country, which was exciting. One day we received a letter from a Christian school in Kharkov, Ukraine called The Beginning of Wisdom. This school was near to closing and finding life very difficult, BUT GOD in His goodness and love stepped in through Faith in Action Missions to provide many of the things that they needed for their school. Today the school has grown from just 11 children to approximately 100.
We also serve him through the prisons, and in the orphanages, and hospitals. It’s such a wonderful life knowing and serving Jesus, and I hope and pray that he continues to give me good health and strength so that I can continue serving him until he calls me home or comes for me.
Maybe you have never trusted this same Jesus, well let me encourage you to put your trust in him because he will never let you down.
Thank God for a risen Saviour.
