John Gray's Testimony:

I was brought up in a Christian home. My parents were Christians and saw it their duty to make known to me God’s way of salvation. Sunday school, church, mid-week meetings, were part of my upbringing. Being brought up in a Christian home did not make me a Christian. I knew that to become a Christian, to be born again, was something that was not inherited from my Father or Mother.

A Tent Mission was held during late August early September in 1958. After listening to the preaching of the Gospel, I made my way home under deep conviction of my state and standing before a Just and Holy God. I knew that I needed to be saved. In my little bedroom by my bedside I repented of my sin and asked the Lord Jesus to come into my heart and life as my Saviour and Lord. Both Preachers had chosen the text John 3 verse 16 and preached clearly and plainly God’s way of salvation. I had heard and read that verse many times, but I could never see anything in it for me, after all I was a teenager about to leave school and make my own way in that big outside world.

That night that verse seemed so different.” FOR GOD SO LOVED JOHN GRAY THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON FOR JOHN GRAY THAT JOHN GRAY BELIEVING IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE”. ( John 3 v 16 ) I believed that on Calvary’s cross Jesus bore my guilt and shame, that He shed His precious blood for me and cleansed me from my Sin and shame. Yes He did this for me and that through BELIEVING IN HIM as my sin bearer and my Redeemer, I was saved for time and for Eternity.

This transformation took place on September 2nd. 1958, almost 50 years ago. He is a Wonderful Saviour and Friend and one day I will see HIM FACE TO FACE IN THE Heaven that He has prepared for all who have put their faith and trust in Him. WILL YOU BE THERE!.
